Well I’ve
taken some time away from here, I could blame the shock of Jessica
posting but of course the truth is I didn’t really feel I had anything
too positive to say.
We’re now in September of course and I
write this today recalling the events of 11 years ago. Like many
people of my age it’s our “Kennedy” moment, where what you were doing
and were you were when you heard what was occurring are seared into your
mind. As some of you are aware we’ve been up to both the 9/11 memorial
in NY and the Flight 93 site in Shanksville, PA. They’re important
sites that should always honor the victims and those affected by the
events.
It’s good to bring positive news as
well, Jessica’s work colleague and very good friend Jen gave birth to a
very healthy (and hairy!) baby boy on August 31st, just a day later than
scheduled. Jessica has already been round for a hug & a cuddle!
Next step is to educate him about the NFL - (not a job for Jessica!).
Also, a friend from my work had a very
unexpected arrival of twins, they’re very early - only 24 weeks and
weighed only just a touch over 1lb, they’re in Fairfax as we speak and
have progressed well so far, fingers crossed they keep fighting and
doing well.
As for our little Booster.... well
he’s developing more & more, extra noises are coming from him as a
result of his speech therapy, and additional “boo-signs” appear fairly
regularly as well. Right now he’s decided that “farts” are funny - I
had nothing to do with that...... - and he’s got a “Boo-strop” pose,
where he has to do something he doesn’t want to do expect crossed arms
and a scowl - hard not to laugh at him, which he doesn’t appreciate.
Oh, and he’s begun to use - sporadically- the potty! Yay!
So we
move on as we have to do, there’s plenty of things to be grateful for,
and feeling negative never leads anywhere. Here’s to positive things
for us & our families & friends from now on!
